Death approaches but with a silent humor; a trace of mirth that you held hostage because of your worry. Death steals away your happiness; your reason to douse that flickering hope yet the embers rekindled births joy - living.
I once sought death, thinking that would bring me peace - obviously staring me in the face as I type. My heart was heavy and torn apart, into shreds; puzzle pieces incomplete as some blown away in the fiery of pain. My only decision and fulfilment was to take just one more breath, close my eyes and fade away to nothingness.
Memories have their own tunes: played sweetly and bitterly at moments of desperation - moments that all you want to do is lay still. It brings out that dance steps long forgotten, keeping your feet in taps and your throat humming then alas, you arise and dance your heart away.
Then my reminiscent attitude got the better of me. Memories, flashbacks, thoughts, aspirations hitting me all at once. No one single video to choose from - all blurry and fast-forwarded yet intelligible. Tears escape from my eyelids and then I question my soul, "do you need to sink into an abyss to feel peaceful? "
